We are a relatively new church comprised of friendly, charitable, and welcoming people who love God and love each other. We held our first worship service on May 16, 2021, at the Smoky Mountain Heritage Center in Townsend. Since then, we have grown to over 115 members and have joined the new Global Methodist Church effective September, 2022. Our theology is traditional, Bible based, orthodox Christianity.
We are currently holding our services in the auditorium at Heritage High School while we build our church on a piece of property we own across the street.
Our Mission is to make Disciples of Jesus Christ.
At Smoky Mountain Methodist Church (SMMC) our core values are based on the Authority of the Bible which we regard as God’s Holy Word. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3.16, 17.
Our church is led by a team of dedicated pastors and lay leaders who are committed to serving our congregation and community.
